Recently,
someone mentioned to me that they didn't want to travel for the holidays
because of the fear of catching a disease. I also heard a few people mentioned
how depressed and sad they were about some recent news about their favorite celebrity.
At times the
media causes us to get so consumed with what is going on in the lives of others
that we slowly take the focus off of ourselves.
Sure, it’s important for us to be informed about what is going on in the
world. However, letting what we hear
stop us from being happy, healthy and prosperous is not such a good thing.
What you put into your mind
has an effect on your whole life. Realize that watching the news may cause you
to worry, keep you in a constant state of fear and stop you from moving
yourself to a higher level of success.
I’m not suggesting that you stop watching the news altogether. I’m simply saying to be mindful of how you
are choosing to react to or hold on to the information you are receiving. Yes, it is true that there are problems and
issues in life we must be aware of. However, your success is determined by how
you take in, process and handle those problems and issues.
Please make a habit of shifting
the focus back to you! Take a good look
at yourself. Are you aware of the power
you have within your own life to make a difference in the lives of others? Are you seeking out material that will
inspire and uplift your spirit? Did you
know that you have the answers to the questions you seek? Do you know that you can accomplish any goal
you choose to? Do you know that whatever
problem you are faced with right now, you can figure out a way to solve it?
Please be constantly aware of
what you are thinking about and focusing on, in order to keep moving to the
level of success you aspire to. Focus on your success and determine to be
successful no matter what!
Have a happy and healthy
Thanksgiving!
“Don’t dwell on what went
wrong. Instead focus on what to do
next. Spend your energies on moving
forward toward finding the answer.” – Denis Waitley
“Successful people maintain a
positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes
rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take
to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other
distractions that life presents to them.” – Jack Canfield
