Live Your Potential and Be the Next Top Success Story!

3 simple action steps to get started living the life of your dreams!

Knowing that you have the potential to accomplish your goals and dreams and not taking action to achieve them is the same as working at your job for a whole week and not getting paid for it.  The potential is there for you to receive a paycheck because you did the work. You did the work and expect to be compensated.  Not getting paid for your work is not acceptable.  In order to have a successful life you must tap into your potential for success.  We all have the potential for great success.  Not using that potential to have a successful life should also be non-negotiable.  Once you make the decision to Live Your Potential, here are 3 very simple action steps that are required to get you started.
  1. Be Determined. Once you realize your potential for success and make the choice to succeed, you have to have a very strong determination to see it through. The strength of your determination is what will move you to your intended result, regardless of time and money. There are many stories of successful people who started out with very little time and money. However, because of their strong determination, they didn’t let anything stop them from accomplishing their goals.
  2. Be Grateful. To attract the success you would like into your life, you need to appreciate and be grateful for the success you already possess. You may easily spend time thinking of things you want and things you don’t have. At those times, you should remember to give thanks and be grateful for what you have already. The more grateful you are for the things you have in your life, the more things you will have to be grateful for.
  3. Have Faith. I’m sure there are times when you may not realize or may often forget how powerful you are. A lot of us go through our daily lives hoping, wishing, and praying for things to be better than they are. The fact is that they can be better than they are. It’s all up to you! You are the one who has to make the decision about how you want things to go. When you pray and ask for guidance and wisdom, you must have strong faith and know that the answer will come. It’s up to you to remain open to receiving the answer.
To accomplish your goals and dreams and have the successful life you desire, you must start within.  It’s important to create the energy of what you want within yourself before you can manifest it.  You have the potential to be the next top success story!

As your success coach, I will support you in staying on track with your dreams and goals and will be committed to your success and happiness.  My goal is to help you make this a great life, and expand your consciousness so that you may grow and flourish in pursuit of your dreams.

A Success Coach Helps You Activate Your Great Idea

Every single one of us has a unique mission to fulfill in this life time. You already have the potential inside to fulfill that mission.  What are you doing with that potential?  Taking action on your dreams and goals will lead you to success.  You must ask yourself the following question: How much do I want to succeed at this?

A cousin of mine had a great book idea.  She had done quite a bit of research and talked to many people about her ideas to see what they thought about it.  Based on the responses, she started to think that it may not be so easy to get the type of book deal she wanted.  She asked me what I thought about her idea. I told her that the book idea was great and that it was possible for it to become a best seller!  However, my cousin never wrote her book.  She sabotaged her success with that goal by focusing on and talking about why it will not work. Doing research and finding out information is fine. However, when you do more contemplating, looking into and talking about it than actually doing it, you may never get started on making your great idea a reality.

As a business trainer to entrepreneurs seeking start-up funding for their business, I’ve heard many wonderful business ideas over the years.  Sadly many of those ideas never come to fruition.  When you have an idea about something, you also have the potential to make it work.

Determination combined with consistent action is the key! If you have a goal to reach or a great idea, get moving on it! Make it happen! Only see yourself succeeding! Just "keep your eyes on the prize." When your determination is strong, it doesn't matter how much research you do, or what someone else says about whether your idea will work or not. If you are determined to make it work, you most certainly will!

Once you make a determination to live up to your full potential and become successful, the next step is to take action by getting the help you need to make it a reality.  Having a success coach to help me accomplish my goals has been one of my biggest assets.  It's such a benefit to have a success coach who can provide the tools, support, and structure needed to achieve your dreams and goals.  If you like, I would love to help you do just that.  You can email me at JoAnn@liveyourpotential.com or call 888-810-43118.
"Our world has changed over the years because new ideas were acted upon. People may not have had all the answers, but as they began to take action, the answers became clear!" -- Catherine Pulsifer
"It is better to entertain an idea than to take it home to live with you for the rest of your life." -- Randall Jarrell
"Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not that one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one's ideas, to take a calculated risk - and to act." -- Andre Malraux

Get Rid of Your Fears!

I recently reconnected with an old friend of mine.  I learned that she has just received a Doctorate Degree.  I am overjoyed and not at all surprised by her success.

I remembered my friend saying, during a conversation many years ago that she had a fear of success.  When I reminded her of that, she said that she was able to block out that thought about success.  She now believes that there is nothing one cannot do! How wonderful!

My friend wasn't the only one I had heard that statement from over the years. There are many people today who have that same fear.  Please don't let any fears you have block you from your goals and dreams.  There is definitely a way to get from where you are now to where you want to be.

Here are 5 sure fire ways to help you get rid of your fears and become the success you have the potential to be!

1. Become Aware of Your Potential.

You have the potential inside for great success.  How do you know that? Well, have you ever said to yourself that you wanted to do something you thought would be difficult to do and you ended up doing it anyway?  If you answered yes, it's because you already had the potential to do it. No matter how hard you thought it would be; No matter how much money you thought it would take; No matter who said you couldn't do it, you did it anyway! Because you already had the potential inside to do it! The awareness of your potential gets stronger as you accomplish one goal after another. That awareness will lead you to the success you desire.

2. Surrender

The spiritual principle of surrender is not about giving up.  It is the act of letting go; the acknowledgment of the power of spiritual activity.  Practicing surrender will help you to stop worrying, complaining and agonizing over problems or situations.  Let go of any thoughts or obstacles you believe are stopping you from accomplishing your goals.

3.  Trust

Trust is something we do naturally.  Trust in yourself and your ability to become successful.  You trust that your body will function the way its suppose to.  You trust that you will receive a paycheck from your job on payday.  Trust that the decisions you make are the right ones for you.  Through your faith, trust that you will be provided with everything you need.  Trust in yourself and your ability to become successful.

4. Move Beyond Your Fears

Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Basically, that means what we fear, is not real; it has not happened.  So, in essence, we really fear nothing.  When you fear something, not only are you focusing on what you don't want but you are fearful of something that may not ever happen. Now is the time to let go of any fears you have.

5. Persevere

Perseverance means persistent action in spite of fears of difficulties.  People who persevere become successful because they learn from their mistakes and keep moving forward regardless.  When something doesn't work, try again and again. Don't stop until it is done.

Focus on the Big Picture!

I received an email a couple of years ago with some information about an African American man named Henry Sampson Jr., who was noted in the email as the person who invented the cellular phone. I am totally in favor of passing knowledge and information onto others. Before I forward this type of information, I like to do a little research, so I am not spreading around facts that are not necessarily true. My search did not confirm that Mr. Sampson invented the cellular phone. However, I found out even more amazing information about Dr. Sampson.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1956. He went on to the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated with an MS degree in engineering in 1961; He received an MS in 1965 and a PHD in 1967 in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Sampson also worked as a research Chemical Engineer at the US Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California from 1956 to 1961. He then moved on to the Aerospace Corp in El Segundo, California. His titles include: Project Engineer, 1967-81, Director of Planning and Operations Directorate of Space Test Program. He was a Co-inventor of the gamma-electric cell. He holds patents related to solid rocket motors and the conversion of nuclear energy into electricity. He also pioneered a study of internal ballistics of solid rocket motors using high-speed photography. He was also a producer of documentary films on early black filmmakers and films, a member of the board of directors of Los Angeles Southwest College Foundation, and a technical consultant to Historical Black Colleges and Universities Program.

Dr. Sampson's Awards and Honors include:
Fellow of US Navy, 1962-1964
Atomic Energy Commission, 1964-1967
Black Image Award from Aerospace Corp, 1982
Blacks in Engineering, Applied Science, and Education Award, Los Angeles Council of Black Professional Engineers, 1983

These are outstanding achievements!!! I'm sure his achievements can be encouraging to anyone, especially young African American men and women.

The email I received years ago gave the impression that Dr. Sampson's invention of the cell phone had been hidden from us because he is African American. The email urged the recipients to pass on this information. In my opinion, the focus of this email was totally off.

I believe that we should be inspired by all of the accomplishments of Dr. Sampson. What he has been able to do in his life should be the focus. We should let it inspire us; encourage us; and motivate us to be just as successful in our own lives. Please realize that it is possible for you to be just as successful as Dr. Sampson, if that is your desire.

Whether you believe Dr. Sampson invented the cell phone or not, I hope that his accomplishments have encouraged you to create a successful life for yourself as well!

What actions will you take in your own life based on this information? Is it encouraging you to further your education, start your own business, or create something that would help make the world a better place? I sincerely hope so. You most certainly can!

New Goals for a New Year!

What type of goals did you make for the new year? The usual goals are to lose weight; quit smoking; start a business; find your ideal partner or buy a house. These are wonderful goals!   However, these goals usually end up on the same person's list year after year. I know several people who make a resolution to lose weight every year. There can be many contributing factors as to why some of us do not end up accomplishing the goals we make.

I have learned that the secret to accomplishing goals is to accomplish inside goals first. Success happens first on the inside! I would like to offer you 5 goals, along with affirmations to repeat daily, to support you in achieving the goals you already have.

1. To constantly be aware of my greatness

Affirmation: I realize that I am the one who makes the choices to live the way I do! Greatness is a choice. -- I choose to let my greatness shine through!

2. To be positive

Affirmation: I choose to be positive and speak positively. I know that being and speaking positive can only benefit me and others.

3. To pray daily

Affirmation: My form of prayer gives me hope and allows me to let go of any worries or concerns I have while I am on the road to fulfilling my dreams.

4. To have absolute faith
Affirmation: There is one powerful source in the universe that governs everything. I am connected to that source. Through my faith, I trust that I will be provided with everything I need.

5. To take consistent action towards my dreams

Affirmation: I know that taking action brings results. I will take consistent action towards my goals until they are accomplished.

Unlike the goals you make on a yearly, monthly, weekly basis, these 5 inside goals are really daily goals. My hope is that you take a good look at what issues you believe may be standing in your way of success and come up with your own inside goals. Remember, you have the potential for great success! Live Your Potential and Succeed!
